Idea for reflection 13

Are the Conferences truly concerned by the problems of the poor and do they take it upon themselves to deal with them? How can we improve the involvement of each member and, as a result, the Conferences as a whole?

Yes, we truly concerned the problems of the poor. We have home-visit for the poor twice per month. We try being their friends rather than their aid.

Yes we are concerned with problems of the poor as we try to raise funds and get them registered on government programs and overseas vincentian assistance programs.

The conferences are truly concerned about the problems of the poor. When ever they meet even outside the regular meeting they discuss the ways and means to deal with them. In this issue I don’t see any need for improvements to be maid in near future.

Yes conferences are very much concerned about the problems of the poor. Due to lack of resources and expertise most of the time the members would not be able to deal with them. Most Vincentians join the organisation with a will to help the poor but with the passage of time, their enthusiasm slowly fizzes out. Vincentian work becomes a monotonous activity. as a remedy we feel that spiritual camps be made more interesting, Interactive and encouraging. Having recollections and holy hours which are theme based could facilitate attitudinal change in members. The members do require a boost every now and then to continue good work. But ultimately the will to help poor is within the individual himself.

Most of the Conferences a concernec about the problems faced by the. One approach we use a a day of reflection and recollection where we reflect on our reason for joining the Society, where we reflect on our individual capabilities and achievements on behalf of the poor. We then come up with new approaches and solutions to improving what we do. Most of the people who join the SVP have a genuine place intheir heart for the poor because our works when we go out to our charges require that you have a genuine desire to help. Most of our efforts and programmes are designed to assist soley the poor.
