I think young people are willing to cope with the new form of poverty. But the problem is - how to start working it?
In my opinion the new form of poverty could not be eradicated simply by giving bread and water.
Let me quote the situation in Hong Kong. I do not think the majority of problems about poverty is about the lack of food and shelter. The problem might be that the poor people could hardly sustain their living standard.
They might being trapped in traditional area where Government housing is and they would have less possibility to step to upper layer of the society.
In my opinion each conference would firstly be required to indentify these new forms sufferings that exist in our communities and with guidance, support, and cooperation would be more than willing to deal with these new forms of poverty.
No matter new form or traditional form of poverty, we are willing to deal with as all people are our brothers and sisters within the Christian community.
Yes we are willing to deal poverty in what ever little way that we can. I admit that we have limited resources, but it start with helping one person. Showing a little kindness. Making representation to our government and civilic leaders to improve the socal programmes.
I strongly agree with Neil that we are willing to deal with any form of suffering. It is the youth in most of the time who points at the new forms of suffering in our conferences. Sometimes this leads to confrontations between the two generations and I will comment on this issue separately under Idea for reflection 10.
In order to deal with the new forms of suffering, it is iimportant to have a clear understanding of these new forms and identify the human and financial resources to address them. Sometimes, because of differences in opinions, there may be clashes by young people and old people who may not view these new forms and see them as clearly as the young people do. As a result we ar enot on the same page and there is conflict in dealing with the issue of poverty.
I agree with some of you. whatever the forms of poverty are, the most important thing is our good intention and spiritual power. all the key to slove many kinds of problem would be love according to what God has said.
The young devoted vincentians are willing to eradicates these new forms of suffering but the difficulty is that they themselves are poor, you can not give out of nothing.
Yes. We in India feel the youth are more sensitive towards new forms of suffering therefore they are willing to deal with them. The youth brainstorm and think of ways and means to reach out proactively but some times the execution of the same is hindered by few members who are not willing to change the typical working style of the society.

Et si on commençait par définir quelles sont les nouvelles formes de pauvreté?
If we start by identifiing the new forms of poverty?
Les troubles mentaux, la maladie, le manque d'amour font-ils partie d'une sorte de pauvreté?
Mental distress, illness, lack of love... are they poverty forms?
Given guidance, the young are willing to deal with the new forms of suffering of our era.

Our younger members here in NZ are quite willing to deal with new forms of poverty.
The difficulty is identifying the new forms of poverty and also finding the most appropriate way to assist those who suffer.

Yes, Youth in scotland are willing to deal with new forms of poverty. Arguement is that older members don't share the same views.
