I do believe that we can achieve as the Spirit of God will guide us how to do.

Since i joined the society about six years ago, we are at our worst, because our economic situation is such that we are unable to help many of these people who are suffering. We cant even get commodities like the staple maize meal and we have been forced to reduce our food parcel which was made up of several items including cooking oil, soap, salt, beans. It is dishearting now that we cant even get the basic maize meal and our situation may not change unless the economic situation in our country changes! So we need the prayers and support of our fellow vincentains all over the world for are situatuion to change soon, because we arent able to help and save people who are dying of hunger and disease.I believe that even if our situation is a difficult one we should not lose hope but trust that God will provide us with a solution as long as we ask him to guide us every step of the way.

I believe that with the devotion,,concentration, willing spirit, financial and material means, the conferences can fight them with the aids of the church hierarchy .and the United Nation.

Due to limited resources, we are able to assist to a point. Where we unable assist financial we assist in kind and prayers.

The conferences are able to deal with them to some extent. They are not able to eradicate them completely. We can deal with some sorts of poverty without any financial assistance and only our time and commitment is needed. As asked by Shingi and commented by queenbee we can pray extensively to overcome these situations also. Sometimes we feel that some of our conferences need some restructuring to fight the new forms of poverty.

The conferences will be able to deal with these if members are willing to give enough time and partner with like minded organisations as our resources are limited, only then these forms of suffering can be controlled if not eradicated within our immediate surrounding.

In Trinidad, the conferences are able to deal with them. However, because SVP work is volunteered, people have other activities in their live competing for time and resources and so the chalenge is posed. Sometimes, people are not fully committed. However, I agree that from a spiritual approach we may be lead by the spirit to these new forms of poverty and strenghened through prayer to help in whatever little way we can.Everyone can add a little piece to the pie, either by prayer or by giving of a little time.
